The IP350 is introduced replacing the IP32, of which 120 were built. The IP350 is the first Island Packet with the Hoyt Boom® equipped staysail and a reverse transom with swim platform. Art and Sandy Pond, Cygnus (IP35-02) complete the first known IP circumnavigation of the world, taking five years, traveling 37,000 miles and visiting 57 countries. We make our first two magazine covers "Sailing" and Germany’s "Yacht" Magazines. David and Kimberly Jones, Andante (IP38-149) win 1st in Class and 4th Overall in the Pacific Cup from San Francisco to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
