The IP440 is introduced replacing the IP420, of which 109 were built. Jack Wood aboard Zippidy-Doo-Dah (IP40-126) takes 1st in Class and 3rd Overall in the Charleston-Bermuda Race. IP’s win three Firsts In Class in the Regata del Sol al Sol: Ryan Cox aboard Southern Cross (IP420-39), Mitch Massie aboard Reflection (IP420-73) and Steven Higger aboard Sunset (IP380-164). The BigFish daysailer is introduced to the retail market (after several years as an IP staff-only product).
